Pain or Being in Pain | Bova Aus Equine Roadshow 2026

Overview

Originally developed for the Bova and Virbac Equine Roadshow,  this webinar explores the complex intersection between behaviour and discomfort, challenging clinicians to ask: is this truly a behavioural issue, or a horse in pain?

Presented by Gemma, the webinar unpacks what behaviour really is, and how emotional state and physiology shape what we see in practice. It examines pain as an individual perception, and how it is influenced by stress.

Through a biopsychosocial lens, the session considers cognitive, emotional, and physical pathology when assessing cases, helping clinicians move beyond surface behaviours to identify underlying causes. Supported by real-world case studies, this webinar provides cases studies and practical insight into making more informed, compassionate decisions when managing complex presentations.
