Feline aortic thromboembolism (ATE) is a condition many veterinary professionals encounter in practice. In this webinar, Liz will explore the various ways this disease can present, with a particular focus on the classic manifestation of hindlimb paralysis.

Dr. Elizabeth Bode BVSc PhD DipECVIM-CA (Cardio) FHEA MRCVS RCVS and EBVS Specialist in Veterinary Cardiology

Dr Liz Bode

Dr Liz Bode graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2006. She began her career in mixed practice before completing a rotating internship at the Queen’s Veterinary School Hospital, University of Cambridge.

Liz went on to earn a PhD at the University of Manchester, awarded in 2013 for her thesis on cardiac calcium handling in heart failure and ageing.

In 2014, she began her residency in small animal cardiology at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, University of Edinburgh. Liz joined the University of Liverpool’s Small Animal Teaching Hospital in 2016 and achieved specialist status in 2017.

In 2019, she was awarded Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy, recognising her commitment to veterinary education.

In 2020, Liz joined ChesterGates Veterinary Specialists, where she established a new cardiology service. She is also a Director of Veterinary Thought Exchange, a CPD company focused on delivering more personalised, practitioner-relevant education to the veterinary community.
