Bio
Scott graduated from Edinburgh Veterinary School in 2007. He began his career at the PDSA before moving on to become a Senior Veterinary Surgeon with Vets Now in Edinburgh in 2010.
In 2012, he embarked on a residency in internal medicine at the University of Edinburgh, following a year as a Teaching Fellow in Anatomy and Physiology. His residency concluded in 2016, during which he also completed a Master’s degree focusing on the pathogenesis of canine liver disease.
Since then, Scott has worked in referral practice and played a key role in developing and delivering a Postgraduate Certificate in Small Animal Emergency Medicine, in collaboration with the University of Chester.
In 2019, together with Liz Bode and Andy Bell, Scott co-founded The Veterinary Thought Exchange (vtx) — a platform offering online veterinary CPD learning in accessible formats. He is also passionate about showcasing the inspiring people within the veterinary profession through conversations on the vtx podcast.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions to clinical practice, Scott was awarded the prestigious title of Fellow of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (FRCVS) in 2023.
