Dr Renata Stavinohova graduated from the University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Brno, Czech Republic, in 2008. Following her PhD at the same institution, she gained valuable surgical and medical experience in the UK before completing both a rotating internship and an ophthalmology internship at the Animal Health Trust.

In 2017, Renata was awarded a BSAVA Postgraduate Certificate in Small Animal Ophthalmology with distinction. She subsequently undertook an ECVO-approved residency at Dick White Referrals and achieved ECVO Diplomate status in 2021. Currently, Renata serves as the Head of Ophthalmology at Lumbry Park Veterinary Specialists. She is also a VIN consultant and a panellist for the BVA/KC/ISDS Eye Scheme.

Renata is deeply committed to education, actively teaching and training veterinary students, nurses, and vets pursuing postgraduate qualifications in veterinary ophthalmology. She combines her clinical practice with a passion for research, focusing on ophthalmic microsurgery, neuro-ophthalmology, ocular manifestations of systemic disease, and inherited eye diseases.

Renata is also the co-chair of the European College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists’ Scientific Committee, reflecting her dedication to advancing the field of veterinary ophthalmology on an international scale.
