Challenges Faced in 2025
In 2025, Bova’s key sustainability challenges were driven by business growth, leading to increased emissions (4.46k tCO₂e), mainly from Scope 3 supply chain activities. Expansion in Australia also raised energy consumption, while areas such as waste optimisation and environmental data tracking (e.g. water usage) remain under development. These challenges highlight the need for stronger supplier engagement, improved data visibility, and continued behavioural change across the organisation.
2026 Goals
- Continue to educate staff on energy use and improve efficiency
- Further develop waste management, including PPE recycling assessment and packaging analysis
- Expand recycling practices and waste tracking, particularly in Australia
- Introduce full supply chain analysis, recognising Scope 3 as the largest emissions contributor
- Continue monitoring and analysing travel data and promote sustainable travel
- Maintain community engagement and charity partnerships
- Continue education on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and provide on-demand materials
At Bova, sustainability is more than a goal — it’s a responsibility we take seriously as stewards of our community and environment.
