Dr Conor O’Halloran

Conor O’Halloran graduated from the University of Liverpool with a BVSc in 2015 and then studied for an MSc in One Health at the University of Edinburgh studying zoonotic infections with a particular emphasis on RNA viruses and the risks they pose as emerging pathogens.  In 2019 Conor completed his PhD in Companion Animal Mycobacterial diseases examining disease presentations, investigating new diagnostic methods and examining the host immune responses in both dogs and cats.

Following graduation Conor worked in general practice for three and a half years eventually becoming Clinical Lead and Partner of a small animal clinic in central Scotland. It was there that he hand-reared and adopted a trusty sidekick – the mischievous kitten Nuala!Conor took the opportunity in 2022 to return to the University of Edinburgh as an ECVIM Resident in Companion Animal Internal Medicine and is continuing research studying companion animal infectious and immune mediated diseases alongside clinical work and teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
