Meet Squeak
Age: 2 years
Breed: Domestic Shorthair
Diagnosis: Non-effusive (dry) form
I am a Veterinary Nurse at Ulysses Vets, and Squeak is my foster fail from a local rehoming group that we work with. She is such a special girl, I fell in love with her instantly and just knew I couldn’t rehome her. I had her for about 6 months before we got her FIP diagnosis. It was an extremely difficult time for both of us. She had a feeding tube for weeks, as well as endless blood tests, ultrasounds, and months spent in hospital with me while I was working. Throughout it all, she stayed herself- the most relaxed, peaceful and affectionate cat I’ve ever met. It was a long journey with lots of highs and lows, but ultimately I feel she was sent to me and we went through this for a reason. She is my soul cat and I am so thankful that we could get her through to the other side of this disease. The world is a better place with her in it 🙂
