Overview

A discussion of equine obesity recognition; diagnostic options which are regularly achievable in general practice and treatment options which might achieve better owner compliance, for both the obese horse and the obese horse during a laminitis episode.

James Risk

James Risk graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2014 and has worked in equine practice for several years. He is currently a clinician in equine practice at the University of Glasgow.

His professional interests include general equine practice, equine dentistry, and equine welfare. James also serves as a consultant for the British Horse Society (Scotland), contributing his expertise to equine health and welfare initiatives across the region.
