Overview
Bova Aus is excited to introduce you to Bova Scholars, an online webinar resource for vets and vet nurses. Over the coming months, Bova Aus will be working with key opinion leaders to create webinars on a variety of topics to bring you top-quality continued professional development (CPD).
Study author and presenter, Anne Fawcett BA(Hons) BScVet (Hons) BVSc (Hons) MVetStud GradCertEdStud (HigherEd) MANZCVS (AnimalWelfare) Dip ECAWBM (AWSEL), will discuss how veterinary teams can maximise the welfare of companion animals who need to wear Elizabethan collars. This webinar will take place on the 5th of May 2020, 7.30 pm.
Elizabethan collars are routinely used in veterinary practice to prevent self-trauma and subsequent complications like infection and wound breakdown.
But what happens when veterinarians discharge an animal with an Elizabethan collar? The authors surveyed owners of pets who had worn an Elizabethan collar in the last 12 months.
In this webinar Anne will discuss the findings, which provide valuable insight into life at home with a pet wearing, as one of our respondents called it, “the cone of shame”.
