Dr Allison Stewart graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1997 and began her career in mixed practice in Gawler, South Australia. She then travelled to the United States to complete a residency in Large Animal Internal Medicine at The Ohio State University, where she also earned a Master of Science and became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) in 2002.
Allison joined the faculty at Auburn University in Alabama, where she also completed a fellowship in Emergency and Critical Care, gaining Diplomate status in that specialty in 2007. Over 12 years at Auburn, she worked as a specialist, taught veterinary students, and was promoted to Professor.
In 2014, Allison returned to Australia, spending time in mixed practice, serving on the Veterinary Practitioners Registration Board of Victoria, and later joining The University of Queensland in an academic role. She recently completed her PhD in Sweden, further expanding her expertise in veterinary medicine and research.
