Bova Sustainability – Planet
Planet
We know our planet matters which is why we’ve adopted a number of green choices to reduce our carbon footprint and minimise our impact on the environment.
Two key areas we will focus on will be our climate impact and ensuring a responsible supply chain.
Climate change
Actively measure and mitigate our greenhouse gas emissions and negative impact on the planet throughout the value chain
- Climate intensity, scope 1&2 tonnes CO2e
- Employees informed and educated on climate policy
- Connected to UN’s SDG target
Responsible supply chain
Actively work to create a more responsible supply chain where we mitigate our environmental impact and safeguard human rights
- New suppliers who have signed SCoC (100%)
- Bova employees in purchasing positions trained in SCoC (100%)
- High risk suppliers that have conducted self-assessment (100%)
- Connected to UN’s SDG target
Bova Group sustainability update: making strides toward a greener future
We’re excited to share an update on Bova Group’s sustainability journey. As a pharmaceutical manufacturer serving the veterinary industry, we are committed to embedding sustainability into everything we do. Together with the support of our parent company Nextmune and Vimian, we’ve made significant progress, laying a strong foundation for long-term environmental responsibility across our sites in London and Sydney.
Although we’re early in our journey, we’ve already exceeded requirements for Bronze level accreditation with the Investors in the Environment (IIE) and are making steady progress toward Silver. This success is a testament to the dedication and hard work of every team member involved.
What we’ve accomplished so far
Here are some highlights of our sustainability progress:
- A Strong sustainability strategy: We’ve begun implementing a long-term carbon reduction and Net Zero strategy with full support from Senior Management Team (SMT) and our parent companies. We will be rolling out 2025 plans by December.
- Engaged Green Teams: With specific roles assigned, our Green Teams are more active than ever. The friendly competition between our UK and Australian teams is driving even greater engagement!
- Better waste management: From reviewing marketing materials to improving packaging and paper use, we’re reducing waste at every level.
- Travel and carbon footprint: We’ve launched a fleet decarbonisation strategy in the UK and surveyed staff commuting methods to shape a comprehensive travel plan.
- Impactful projects: From waste reduction to biodiversity protection and social good, our initiatives are creating real change and raising awareness among stakeholders.

Overcoming challenges together
The road hasn’t been without challenges—ensuring SMT buy-in, Green Team engagement, staff compliance, and reliable data collection were hurdles we’ve tackled head-on. Thanks to re-strategising, we now have:
- Strong resource baselines and improved data collection processes.
- Direct SMT involvement in sustainability processes.
- Better communication strategies to share our progress internally and externally.
What’s next?
To achieve Silver accreditation, we need to:
- Ensure complete datasets for all resources.
- Implement a performance review process.
- Develop action plans for key areas.
- Formalise our work on travel by creating a detailed travel plan.
