Bova Sustainability – Animals
Animals
Pets, along with their owners and vets sit at the heart of everything we do at Bova. Each product is carefully developed to help maximise compliance and stress-free administration – ultimately protecting the owner-animal bond and animal welfare. Protecting wild species is also important to us and influences our charity choices.
The key focus areas are:
Animal Welfare
Our aim is to provide innovative and novel medicines to treat a wide variety of diseases and conditions. But our medicines also need to be easy to give and readily accepted by the animal to maintain the animal and owner bond, with is paramount.
KPIs:
- Continue to launch new treatments and refine existing ones
- Educate vets and pet owners on different topics
Antimicrobial Resistance
While there is the necessity to reduce the over use of antimicrobials, there is also the need to educate on the correct types of antimicrobials to use also when and how to use them.
KPIs:
- Educate vets and pet owners on antimicrobial resistance and work with key veterinary groups to identify when and how to use certain actives.

Life on land
Around 40,000 species are at risk of extinction over the coming decades. This goes hand in hand with deforestation in certain parts of the world, destroying habitats.
KPIs:
- We are supporting the charity Nature’s SAFE whose mission is to Save Animals From Extinction by collecting, indefinitely storing and regenerating reproductive cells and cell lines from endangered animal species.
- Implement a yearly regeneration target.
