Meet Lyla
Age: 1 year
Breed: Domestic short hair
Diagnosis: Non-effusive (dry) form
Lyla was found on the street at just 3 weeks old, and brought into the practice where I work. She was full of character even at this age and I quickly fell in love and she’s been with me ever since.
After facing several episodes of uveitis where no clear cause could be found, she was referred to an opthalmologist who diagnosed her with FIP.
Lyla hates travelling and is scared of anything that moves, so multiple trips and new people was a lot for her but she remained resilient throughout and I’m so proud of her. Medicating was a challenge as she’s extremely sassy but we found a routine that worked for us. She finished treatment in June 2024, and I will be forever grateful to the advances in veterinary medicine that made her recovery possible.
She’s been through so much but is still a happy, playful cat with so much personality and sass. I couldn’t imagine my life without her.
