Meet Morpheus

Morphy was with us for just over a month before becoming very clingy with very rapid breathing. I took him straight to our usual vets, who X-rayed his chest and immediately suspected FIP. He needed a drain and supportive oxygen, so they referred him to a veterinary hospital for treatment and monitoring.

The procedure took place early evening, and the fluid findings were consistent with FIP, so treatment was started that night while awaiting further test results. We were fortunate that he didn’t need any additional drains, but he did remain in intensive care for four days. It was such a relief to have him home again, as we were so worried we might lose him.

We were then transferred back to our local vets, who monitored him throughout the 84-day treatment period. I also weighed him weekly, and adjustments were made as he gained weight.

After a couple of weeks, Morphy turned back into a lively kitten—racing around and getting into as much mischief as possible! His observation period ended in mid-January 2026, and he has just celebrated his first birthday.
